Independent off-airport car parks and meet-and-greet firms also serve many airports. We only list ones we have checked — read on- vs off-airport parking and how to check a car park is legitimate before booking one.
Drop-off & pick-up
Free
Terminal drop-off: Free for up to 15 minutes in the designated drop-off area
As stated on the airport’s website, checked 3 October 2026. Charges can change — check before you travel.
Follow the green signs to the free drop-off area in one of the Short Stay car parks: free for up to 15 minutes, about a 5-minute walk from the terminal. After that, normal parking charges apply, and you can't return within an hour.
Picking someone up
Use the same free drop-off area (15 minutes) or park in Short Stay, a short walk from the terminal.
Getting there by public transport
- Stagecoach buses 1 and 13 run between the terminal and Inverness city centre (bus station near the railway station); reduced service on Sundays.
- Inverness Airport railway station is on the Inverness–Aberdeen line, about 11 minutes from Inverness — but it's roughly a 20-minute walk from the station to the terminal along an uncovered path.
- Taxis wait in the dedicated zone outside the terminal (about 20 minutes to the city centre).
Blue Badge parking & EV charging
Blue Badge & assistance
The premium car park in front of the terminal has Blue Badge parking; Blue Badge holders and Special Assistance passengers can park there free for up to 20 minutes. Special assistance points in the car park connect to the information desk.
Electric vehicle charging
HIAL says there are no public EV chargers in the airport car parks; the nearest is at Inverness Airport railway station (run by ScotRail).
Tips for Inverness
- Short Stay is the cheapest option for stays up to 48 hours; for more than 48 hours use Long Stay (about a 10-minute walk).
- Bookings open 12 months ahead and close 12 hours before your stay starts.
- Unbooked parking can be paid at the pay-on-foot machines outside the terminal (cash or card) or by card at the exit barrier; American Express isn't accepted online.
- Coaches use a restricted lane at the front of the terminal (£10, under two hours).
