Drop-off & pick-up

Terminal drop-off: £8 for up to 10 minutes in Rapid Drop Off (from 29 September 2026), then £1 a minute
As stated on the airport’s website, checked 3 October 2026. Charges can change — check before you travel.
Rapid Drop Off is directly outside the terminal and barrier-free — you drive through without stopping. The airport announced a new tariff from 29 September 2026: £8 for stays up to 10 minutes, then £1 for every extra minute. Pay online, by phone (03452 221517) or by AutoPay, only after your visit and by midnight the following day. No cash or cheques.
Unpaid visits get a £100 Parking Charge, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days (appeals go to APCOA).
Alternative: pick up or drop off in the Short Stay 1 car park — £12 up to 30 minutes, £14 up to 1 hour, £18 up to 2 hours and £22 up to 3 hours.
Picking someone up
Rapid Drop Off is for drop-offs only. To collect passengers, use the Short Stay 1 car park (from £12 for up to 30 minutes) — handy if you want to meet them inside the terminal.
Getting there by public transport
- The airport says it is well connected by bus, coach, train and taxi, with links to towns and cities including Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham.

Blue Badge parking & EV charging
Blue Badge & assistance
Blue Badge holders can use Short Stay 1 free for up to 30 minutes and Long Stay 2 free for up to 60 minutes, for pick-up and drop-off. Short Stay 1 has Blue Badge bays and is reached on foot from the terminal; help points in all car parks can call assistance. There are two marked Blue Badge bays in Rapid Drop Off.
Tips for East Midlands
- The Rapid Drop Off tariff changed on 29 September 2026 — check the latest price before you go.
- Long Stay shuttle buses run every 20 minutes (3–5 minute ride); allow for the wait.
