Drop-off & pick-up

Terminal drop-off: £7 for the first 15 minutes in Premium Set Down — or free for 10 minutes in the Drop Off car park

Premium Set Down, right outside the terminal (about a 1-minute walk), costs £7 for the first 15 minutes.

Free alternative: the Drop Off car park is free for up to 10 minutes, a 5–10 minute walk to the terminal via a covered walkway (or use the free bus between the car parks and the terminal). There's a no-return-within-one-hour rule.

Red Routes with double red lines surround the airport: stopping, unloading or parking on them — even to drop someone off — brings an enforcement charge of £100 (£50 if paid within 14 days), issued by APCOA for the airport.

Picking someone up

Birmingham recommends Car Park 5 for meeting passengers — about a 5–10 minute walk to the terminal, from £12 for up to an hour.

Getting there by public transport

  • Birmingham International station is linked to the terminal by the free Air-Rail Link monorail (03:30–00:30 daily).
  • Direct trains include Avanti West Coast to London Euston (about 70 minutes) and Birmingham New Street (about 10 minutes), plus West Midlands Railway / London Northwestern, CrossCountry and Transport for Wales services.

Blue Badge parking & EV charging

Blue Badge & assistance

All on-site car parks have Blue Badge bays: ground-floor bays with lifts in Car Parks 1, 2 and 3; 10 bays near the entrance of Car Park 7, which has a free wheelchair-friendly shuttle bus for pre-booked customers; and 3 bays by the Valet cabin. Blue Badge holders get 30 minutes free in Premium Set Down — take your registration and badge to the NCP customer service cabin there (the badge holder must be present).

If you don't want to leave your Blue Badge in the car, get a temporary permit from the customer service desk in Premium Set Down (or the cabin in Car Park 7). Normal parking charges apply in disabled bays.

Tips for Birmingham

  • Birmingham's car parks are run by NCP and hold the Park Mark safer parking award; all are within 10 minutes of check-in.
  • Birmingham says pre-booking can save up to 70% (its terms: 14+ day stays in Car Parks 1, 2 and 3 compared with the standard tariff).
  • Flexible bookings can be amended, cancelled or refunded up to 24 hours before arrival.
  • Car Park 7 includes a meet-and-greet style service: leave your keys and staff park the car, then take the free bus.
