Drop-off & pick-up
£10
Terminal drop-off: £10 for up to 10 minutes, then £1 a minute up to 20 minutes (30 minutes maximum stay)
As stated on the airport’s website, checked 3 October 2026. Charges can change — check before you travel.
The drop-off zones are on the forecourts outside the North and South Terminals. There are no barriers: drive in, pull into a marked bay, drop off and drive out. The charge is £10 for 10 minutes, then £1 for each extra minute up to 20 minutes; the maximum stay is 30 minutes and the maximum daily charge £30.
Pay by midnight the day after — the easiest way is to register for AutoPay before you travel. The service is run for Gatwick by Times24; if you don't pay in time you'll get a Parking Charge Notice (PCN).
Free alternative: park in a Long Stay car park free for up to two hours and use the free shuttle bus to the terminal.
Picking someone up
Park in the Short Stay car park at either terminal and walk to arrivals, or use an Express Pick-Up bay in the Short Stay car parks and have your passengers meet you there. Long Stay car parks offer up to 2 hours free with a free shuttle bus; normal Long Stay drive-up rates apply after that.
Getting there by public transport
- Gatwick Express — non-stop to London Victoria in about 30 minutes, twice an hour.
- Southern and Thameslink — London in 30–45 minutes, Brighton in about 30 minutes, plus direct trains to Bedford, Cambridge, Luton and the south coast.
- Great Western Railway — direct trains to Reading every half hour.
- The station is at the South Terminal. Gatwick says trains leave on average every four minutes.
- Coaches and local buses also serve both terminals.
Blue Badge parking & EV charging
Blue Badge & assistance
Blue Badge bays are provided in the Long Stay, Mid Stay and Short Stay car parks at both terminals (first come, first served). Blue Badge holders are exempt from the drop-off charge but must register their vehicle with Times24.
At the South Terminal there are eight Blue Badge bays in Premium Parking (level 2 of Car Park 3) with discounted rates for stays under four hours; the North Terminal has 18 in its Premium area on the terminal level. In Long Stay, the customer service office by the exit can grant up to an hour's free parking to Blue Badge holders.
Official accessibility information
Electric vehicle charging
EV charging can be pre-booked as an extra with Valet Parking at either terminal — a two-hour charge on Type 2 (22kW) fast chargers. Your car needs at least 20% charge and no scheduled charging times set.
Tips for Gatwick
- Gatwick lets you amend an official parking booking free of charge up to 24 hours before your planned arrival.
- Robotic Parking is only at the South Terminal — robots move your car from a private garage.
- Gatwick publishes a list of off-airport operators in its Approved Operators Scheme and a six-point checklist for avoiding rogue parking firms.
Gatwick's Approved Operators Scheme requires operators to declare all car storage sites, hold British Parking Association approval and belong to Trading Standards' Buy With Confidence scheme.
