Drop-off & pick-up

£7

Terminal drop-off: £7 every time a vehicle enters a terminal drop-off zone

As stated on the airport’s website, checked 3 October 2026. Charges can change — check before you travel.

The charge applies 24 hours a day at the drop-off zones outside Terminals 2, 3, 4 and 5, recorded by number-plate cameras (there are no barriers). Pay online or by automated phone line — in advance, by autopay, or by midnight the day after your visit. You can't pay at the airport.

If you don't pay, Heathrow issues an £80 Parking Charge, reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days. Taxis and private-hire cars pay the charge too.

Free alternative: drop off in a Park & Ride car park (formerly Long Stay) — Heathrow says you can stay up to 29 minutes free (up to two hours in Terminal 4 Park & Ride Zone A), then take the free bus to the terminal. Re-entry is blocked for 24 hours afterwards and private-hire and trade vehicles can't use this.

Picking someone up

Waiting and pick-ups are not allowed in the terminal drop-off zones. Pick up from a Terminal Parking (formerly Short Stay) car park or a Park & Ride car park.

At Terminal 4 there is a paid Priority Pick-Up area on the arrivals level of the multi-storey car park, paid online per visit (Blue Badge discounts don't apply). Free pick-up at Terminal 4 is in Zone A of the Park & Ride car park.

Blue Badge parking & EV charging

Blue Badge & assistance

All Heathrow car parks are wheelchair accessible with Blue Badge bays.

UK and EEA Blue Badge holders can get a 100% discount on the drop-off charge by setting up a Blue Badge Account (apply at least 7 days before your next visit; the badge check can take up to 5 days), even when dropped off by a taxi or a friend. The first 2 hours in Park & Ride car parks are free for Blue Badge holders — use the call point on entry and exit.

Official accessibility information

Electric vehicle charging

Heathrow says it doesn't currently provide EV charging in any of its car parks and recommends charging before you arrive.

Tips for Heathrow

  • Terminal Parking is Heathrow's new name for Short Stay, Park & Ride for Long Stay and Priority Park & Ride for Business parking — you may still see the old names elsewhere.
  • The Terminal 4 multi-storey car park closed from 23 June 2026 for forecourt and car park works — check Heathrow's Terminal 4 updates before driving there.
  • Heathrow's Valet product includes a 100% discount on the drop-off charge.
  • Heathrow is inside London's Ultra Low Emission Zone: non-compliant vehicles pay TfL's daily ULEZ charge.

Heathrow says all 11 of its car parks are owned, staffed and operated by the airport. You can cancel or change a Heathrow parking booking up to 2 hours before your arrival time.
