Drop-off & pick-up
£10
Terminal drop-off: £10 for up to 15 minutes in the Express Set Down area
As stated on the airport’s website, checked 3 October 2026. Charges can change — check before you travel.
Drop-off outside the terminal is in the barrier-free Express Set Down area, which uses number-plate cameras. Stansted's Blue Badge page gives the fee as £10 for 15 minutes; if you need longer, speak to a traffic marshal. You can only pay after your visit — online, by phone (03450 175046) or by AutoPay — by midnight the next day. There are no machines and no cash. The area is run by APCOA for the airport.
If you don't pay, a £100 Parking Charge Notice is issued, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.
Free alternative: the free drop-off area at the Mid Stay car park, with a free shuttle bus to the terminal. You can also drop off or pick up in the Green and Blue Short Stay car parks (charges from £13 for up to 30 minutes).
Picking someone up
Pick up in the Green or Blue Short Stay car parks if you want to go into the terminal to meet someone — Stansted lists pick-up and drop-off charges of £13 up to 30 minutes, £21 up to 1 hour, £25 up to 2 hours and £38 up to 4 hours. The Mid Stay car park has a free pick-up and drop-off area with a free shuttle bus. The Express Set Down area can also be used for quick pick-ups (charged per visit).
Getting there by public transport
- Stansted Express — trains to London Liverpool Street and Tottenham Hale (for the Victoria line); fares to Liverpool Street from £9.90 according to the airport.
- Other rail services and coaches also serve the airport station and coach station — see Stansted's travel pages.
Blue Badge parking & EV charging
Blue Badge & assistance
Blue Badge bays are in the Short Stay car parks (Orange and Green zones), Mid Stay (Zone L, near the bus shelter) and Long Stay (Zone Q), with accessible free shuttle buses — allow up to 20 minutes for the transfer. Help points in each car park and outside the terminal doors can call assistance 24 hours a day.
Blue Badge spaces are at the front of the Express Set Down area, but Blue Badge holders are not exempt from the Express Set Down charge.
